Background

García de los Salmones (1914) cittala as cultivated in the town of Castrelo de Miño (Ribadavia-Ourense). In the Viticultural Cadastre of 1983 it is cited as cultivated in the Ribeiro DEL and in the province of A Coruña.

Current situation

It is a variety of the IXP Ribeiras do Morrazo. It is also recognized as a preferred variety in DD. OO Ribeira Sacra, Ribeiro and Valdeorras, and as authorized by DEL Rías Baixas. It is also contemplated for the elaboration of wines in the geographical indications Viño de la Terra Barbanza and Iria and Valle del Miño.

Variety of sprouting and medium maturation, has moderate sensitivity to mildew and powdery mildew and is very sensitive to botrytis. We obtained wines with graduations between 12.3-9.7% and acidity of 6.8 to 4.1 g / L.

Morphological description

Pompano
The new branch presents the open limb with hair lying low density, without anthocyanin pigmentation or with the presence of pigmented reberetada of very weak intensity. The dorsal and ventral side of the trainers and us is green. The buds do not present anthocyanin pigmentation.
